Frequently asked questions

Are your safe deposit boxes insured?

Yes – every safe deposit box comes with £10,000 of contractual liability cover.

If your safe deposit box comes with an inner container, you should always use it, or your insurance may be affected.

You do not have to tell us what is in your box when you open an account but, if there were to be a claim, you would need to give us a list. We recommend that you keep a list elsewhere, along with valuation certificates, invoices and photographs of the contents of your box.

If you need more than £10,000 insurance, we can increase the amount at a cost of £2.82 per £1,000, up to a maximum of £500,000 per year or part of a year.

You can find further information about contractual liability in our Terms & Conditions.
