Frequently asked questions

Are your safe deposit boxes insured?

Yes – every safe deposit box comes with £10,000 of contractual liability cover.

You do not have to tell us what is in your box when you open an account, if there were to be a claim, you would need to provide us with a list of items stored at that time. We recommend that you keep the list elsewhere, along with valuation certificates, invoices and photographs of the contents of your box.

If you require more than £10,000 insurance, we can increase the amount at a cost of £3.00 per £1,000, up to a maximum of £500,000 per year or part of a year.

If your safe deposit box comes with an inner container, you should always use it, or your insurance may be affected.

You can find further information about contractual liability in our Terms & Conditions and information about insurance here.
