What can I store in my box?

You can store a wide range of personal belongings, such as precious metals, jewellery, legal documents or other valuables.

Among exclusions are living organisms, anything inflammable, explosives, poisons, weapons and drugs. You can find a full list of what is excluded in our Terms & Conditions.

MSD is registered with the Financial Conduct Authority in the UK for the purposes of anti-money laundering. We therefore require our customers to ensure that no contents deposited in their Box represents the proceeds of crime (as more specifically set out in the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002). We are under a legal obligation to report to UK authorities any suspicions of, without exclusion or limitation, money laundering, proceeds of crime (including tax evasion) and/or terrorist financing without further notice to our customers.

Damage to our lockers

You may not overfill your safe deposit box container and the container lid should be firmly closed when placed in the safe deposit locker. Under no circumstances must you force your safe deposit container into the safe deposit locker as this  may cause damage to the locker column, container, electronics or mechanical lock. You must use the safe deposit box container provided at all times to store your items, storage of any items not placed in the container is strictly prohibited.

We will always charge for any repair costs associated with customer related damage due to overfilling and/or misuse of our equipment, this includes charging for replacement safe deposit box containers.
